I Knew

July 15, 2016

I knew this would happen. I knew this would happen on Bastille Day.

Bastille Day usually comes and goes without much fanfare in this neck of the woods, but a few days ago I heard it mentioned somewhere and I was struck by an immediate thought: They are going to attack.

It seemed so obvious. The Bataclan attack was eight months ago; there was a ten month gap between Charlie Hebdo and that incident. France was once again due to come face-to-face with the nightmare of Islam.

But what are you to do? I could have made hysterical calls to the French embassy. Yeah, that’s going to help. Perhaps the French authorities — if I’d asked them nicely enough — could have emailed me their watchlist, and I might be lucky enough to pick the right guy, and…stop. Enough of the crazy talk.

The reality is that unless we confront the enemy head-on, this will keep happening. That enemy is ISLAM. The time has come for drastic measures, and one of those measures is the banning of this ideology in civilized countries.

Game over, Muslims.
